Maria Delgado 09.26.1926 – 11.12.2013


Maria “Kit” Delgado was and forever will be a woman who captured the hearts of many. She passed away in the comfort of her home in Port Orchard, Washington among her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Please feel free to share any of your memories of Maria. May her lovely soul rest in peace for all eternity.

Viewing service will be held Monday, November 18, 2013 from 3 pm to 8 pm at Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Bremerton. Rosary will begin at 7 pm. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 10:30 am to 12 pm at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard. Graveside service immediately following the funeral at the Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Bremerton.

  1. Going to grandma’s house was always something I looked forward to… especially in the summer. There was always food there ,really, really good food (chicken wings, red rice, bbq’d meats, potatoe salad, lupia.) and she made sure you were eating it or sleeping on the couch from it. A warm blanket made you forget about the real world. I remember playing catch with kaden when he was around 2yrs old, it was really hot that day and grandma came out with two lemonades and said “come boy, here is some lemonade” I thought she was talking to kaden but she was really talking to me. I was 29yrs old and she was calling me “boy” … it was funny. Later that day she came out holding two fresh chicken wings.
    To me she represents a generation without cell phones and social media, big screen tv’s and suv’s. Respect and you’ll be respected, not the other way around. She was genuine and caring and she always thought about you before herself, I’ll never forget that about her.
